About Us
The Jua Kazi Show, is an initiative by Mentors in different Industries for the
youth, aimed at providing solutions to the
unemployment menace facing them.
This initiative is aimed at empowering and enhancing their skills towards
entrepreneurship.
Established on 15th May,2018
Why JUA-KAZI?
Jua Kazi derived from Kiswahili meaning (GET SKILLS).
In the past we would call it JUA KALI but due to innovations and smart thinking of
the youth we removed the scrotching Sun indication.
THE UNEMPLOYMENT PROBLEM
In Kenya, the problem of unemployment remains a big hurdle affecting the youth. Studies show that there is a profound mismatch between, our educational system, and on the vis-a-vis, the requirements of our emerging technology driven society where machines are taking over routine jobs. Various stakeholders other than just the government need to come up with innovative ways to help in mitigating and eventually alleviating the problem of unemployment in Kenya. .
STATISTICS OF PROBLEM
Today, Kenya’s youth unemployment rate stands at 65 percent, among the
highest in the world.
The unemployment rate in Kenya increased to 6.6 percent in the first
quarter of 2021.
Unemployment in Kenya is attributed to a number of factors that include:
rapid growth of the population and the labour force, skill mismatch,
information problems in the labour market, structural adjustment
programs, slow or declining economic growth, and the labour market
setup, among others.
"THE SOLUTION"
The unemployment problem calls for innovative thinking,
creativity in nurturing and developing talents, as well as
encouraging enterprises to thrive, so as to grow more job
opportunities for the youth and general public at large.
